Iran-US war latest: Trump rejects settling conflict as Israel bombs Tehran oil facilities

US president Donald Trump said he was not interested in negotiating with Iran and claimed the war could reach a stage where Tehran wouldn’t have any leadership left to negotiate with.

“At some point, I don’t think there will be anybody left to say ‘We surrender’,” the US president said, speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, backing the US and Israel air campaign to annihilate Iran’s power.

The Trump administration is also eyeing Iran’s highly enriched nuclear stockpile and is discussing sending special forces into Iran to secure it at a later stage of the war, four sources aware of the discussions told Axios.

Overnight, Iran witnessed one of the deadliest attacks from Israel targeting Tehran’s infrastructure and oil facilities. The Israel Defence Forces confirmed the onslaught and said they “launched another wave of attacks across Iran”.

Locals in Tehran said they woke up to loud explosions and strikes on its oil refineries which turned the sky orange from massive flames.
